Cosley Zoo, which has been closed to the public since March 16 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will reopen on July 6 & 7 for Cosley Zoo members and July 8 for the general public.

“Seeing our zoo come alive with excited faces is something we have truly missed. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back! Our team has worked diligently to put safety measures in place so that guests can enjoy a safe and positive experience as they visit all of their favorite animals”, said Sue Wahlgren, Director of Cosley Zoo.

Pre-purchased, timed tickets will be required for all admissions and will only be available online beginning July 3 for the general public at cosleyzoo.org.

Cosley Zoo’s reopening plan includes modifications that will help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. The plan includes limited attendance and reducing hours to 9A to 4P, daily.

Safety measures will include a one-way path through the zoo, signage encouraging social distancing between groups, increased cleaning and sanitization procedures, the closure of some indoor spaces and high-touch areas, and masks will be required for all guests over the age of 2 when a minimum 6′ social distance cannot be maintained. Exceptions will be made for those with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering.

The Coyote Cafe will be open from 10A to 3:30P, weather permitting. Initially, the Wild Side Gift Shop will remain closed and daily education activities are temporarily suspended.

The changes and policies will be communicated to visitors prior to reopening the doors to the public.
