Cosley Zoo hosts a variety of events every year, including the popular Run for the Animals in June and The Festival of Lights & Christmas Tree Sale in December.

Party for the Planet

Saturday, April 21 | 10A-2P | Cosley Zoo | Free event*
Join us as we take part in the largest combined Earth Day celebration in North America with more than 100 other zoos and aquariums. Visit with representatives from businesses and conservation organizations and learn about a wide variety of conservation efforts related to nature and wildlife.

Endangered Species Day

Saturday, May 19 | 10A-2P | Cosley Zoo
Come to Cosley Zoo to learn more about endangered species in Illinois and worldwide. Learn about Cosley Zoo’s efforts to protect the Illinois Endangered Blanding’s Turtle, and how you and your family can make a difference for some of these amazing animals.

Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals 5K | 10K | Kids’ ½ Mile

Saturday, June 2 | 7:30A 5K & 10K Start; 8:45A ½ Mile Start

Memorial Park, 208 W. Union, Wheaton

Join more than 2,500 runners for the 37th annual Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals. Runners and spectators are invited to a Party in the Park after party following the races. The party will include an awards presentation with awards given to the top overall male and female runners and age-category winners in the 5K & 10K. All 1/2 mile kids’ race participants will receive a finisher’s medal.

Please note: Children ages 4 and younger who are participating in the Kids’ 1/2 Mile race must be accompanied by a parent or responsible guardian aged 14+. Parents and guardians do not need to pay for a 1/2 Mile race registration. All children participating in the 1/2 Mile race must be registered and paid.

It’s wine with a little bit of wild!

Thursday, July 26 | 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm | Cosley Zoo

Enjoy an evening at Cosley Zoo while sampling from a selection of more than 60 wines, listening to live entertainment, mingling with some of the zoo’s animal residents, and entering for a chance to win fantastic raffle prizes.

The first 350 guests will receive a commemorative wine glass and all guests will be on hand for an exciting special announcement!

Guests will be able to order wine available for sampling at a discounted price from Famous Liquors. 10% of wine sales will be donated to Cosley Zoo.

Mike Williams Cosley Classic Golf Outing

Monday, August 6 | Arrowhead Golf Club, 26W151 Butterfield Rd, Wheaton

Get your foursome together for the 35th annual Mike Williams Cosley Classic Golf Outing. Tee-off to support the important work of Cosley Zoo and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon at the beautiful Arrowhead Golf Club.

The day includes:
– 18 holes of golf
– Lunch
– Steak dinner
– Raffle
– Gimmicks on the course
– Animal visits from Cosley Zoo

Registration for the event opens in mid-April.

All event proceeds support Cosley Zoo and its mission to promote the understanding of the relationship among humans, animals, and the environment through recreation, education, and wildlife conservation.
